My interest in Merrymeet Model Cars (MMCars) came about because of my work.

After 25 yrs working in Production Management
and with my latest employment being 25 miles
from home my Elan Sprint was no longer suitable
for every day transport and I was forced to buy a “sensible” car.

My plans where to use my Elan for competitions and tow it with my new purchase a Landrover Freelander.

I thought a Kit of the Freelander towing a 1/43 Elan would be a good subject to model and started looking, that’s when I found MM Cars and added my name to the Mailing List. My first mail came from Peter saying that he was about to close the business through ill health and at the same time the company I worked for announced its closure so with lots of assistance from Peter I bought Merrymeet Cars.

After years of working with soul-less electronics I now have part time work with something that I really enjoy (I am still seeking full time employment).I am not a fanatical kit builder but I have built many models over the years, lately my spare time has been spent competing in Motor Sport events, with my son, in a Mini Cooper S.

Attending Le Mans has become an annual family event. Although specialising in Le Mans kits we will continue with our varied range perhaps adding more classic sports cars in the future. We have recognised that model making is a hobby that is in the main done outside office hours, the business is run from our home so if we are in we will answer the phone at any reasonable time seven days a week. We can of course be contacted by e-mail or fax at anytime.
